About the Position:
Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is currently hiring Mental Health Technicians to support individuals receiving behavioral health treatment. In this vital role, you'll provide non-professional, direct and indirect care, helping ensure a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include:

• Participating in de-escalation and safety-related activities
• Acting as a positive role model and supporting healthy decision-making
• Assisting with recreational and therapeutic programming
• Transporting residents to and from medical appointments
• Ensuring daily schedules and routines are followed

Job Type & Salary:

• Shift Availability: All shifts available
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
• Pay Rate: $24.00/hour (MHT I)
• Shift Differentials: Additional pay for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Hours: Up to 30 hours per week / maximum of 999 hours per year

Additional Compensation:
Earn more with our generous shift differentials, applied on top of base pay for work during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

• No previous experience or education required for MHT I

Special Requirements:

• Upon a conditional job offer, applicants must:
  • Pass a physical exam
  • Be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to push/pull up to 25 pounds of force

Pre-employment Testing:

• This is a safety-sensitive position
• Applicants must pass a drug and alcohol screening (urinalysis) before appointment

About the Facility:
Griffin Memorial Hospital, located in Norman, OK, is a 120-bed acute psychiatric facility operated by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). GMH provides inpatient treatment for adults aged 18+ with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. We proudly serve all 77 counties across Oklahoma.
