Job Title: Cafeteria Worker
Department: Food and Nutrition Services
Location: Canton Potsdam Hospital (New coffee shop at the hospital)
Hours Per Week: Part Time; 16 hours/week
Schedule: 7.5 hour shift; 6:30 am to 2:30 pm; every other weekends, holidays
SUMMARY:
The Cafeteria Worker is responsible for preparing and serving food, handling payments, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. This role maintains high standards of sanitation and organization in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. If you like interacting with a lot of people, this would be a great fit!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and replenish prepared food items to ensure consistent availability for customers.
Serve meals in a friendly and efficient manner.
Handle cash register operations, process payments accurately, and manage the opening and closing of the cash drawer.
Keep supplies and condiments stocked, clean, and organized.
Maintain a clean and sanitary dining area to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
Assist visitors and staff promptly and courteously, delivering excellent customer service.
Operate the dishwashing machine properly to ensure all dishes and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Food service background
Comfortable handling money
Customer experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

PAY RANGE:
$17.58 - $24.27The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
