Position Description:

The JB Speed School is seeking a part-Time Temporary Summer Outreach Coordinator. They will report to the director of Speed School Admissions and Community Engagement. The Temporary Outreach Coordinator plays an integral and external role in coordinating and executing plans for our summer series camps.

The Temporary Outreach Coordinator for the JB Speed School Office of Admissions and Community Engagement is responsible for introducing K-12 students to the world of STEM. Outreach Team Members engage with K-12 students through Signature Partnerships, Field Trips, Camps, and Large Events throughout the summer. The position will assist, plan, and implement camps for talented and diverse student populations. The Temporary Outreach Coordinator will lead in developing effective outreach strategies and work in collaboration with the admissions and outreach team to develop an overall communication strategy as well as individual tactics to implement a comprehensive marketing and communication plan for use in future outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and support Team Leads across Makerspace, Outreach, and Marketing & Communications.

  • Provide guidance, structure, and accountability to Student Ambassadors, ensuring alignment with department goals.

  • Develop and implement leadership training opportunities to foster growth and succession planning within the ambassador program.

Digital Transformation & Process Optimization

  • Identify and implement technology-driven solutions to streamline administrative processes and enhance efficiency.

  • Develop automated workflows, data management strategies, and digital tracking systems to improve operations.

  • Serve as a liaison between departments to facilitate cross-college collaboration on digital initiatives.

Project & Program Management

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of internal and external projects, ensuring timely and effective completion.

  • Manage outreach initiatives, field trips, campus visits, and partnership-driven events with external organizations.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of programs.

  • Maintain strong relationships with community partners, faculty, and stakeholders to expand program reach.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management experience.

  • Background in project management, process improvement, or digital transformation.

  • Ability to analyze, streamline, and implement new systems to optimize operations.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Experience in event coordination, student programming, or community engagement is a plus.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
