Part-Time Lecturer
The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), College of Science (CoS) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore seeks outstanding candidates to apply for a dedicated and knowledgeable Part-Time Lecturer to join our faculty team, who will be responsible for coordinating and conducting the course BS1022 Laboratory for Foundations of Chemistry I. This position requires a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of lab-skills to provide high-quality education to our students. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and conducting laboratories, marking of lab reports and any other administrative duties of the course.
SBS is searching for individuals with a well-defined research vision and an outstanding track record of publications in top journals. The successful candidate will establish and maintain an independent extramurally funded research program. The successful candidate is expected to show a strong commitment to departmental undergraduate and graduate mentoring and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Prepare and deliver laboratory sessions on basic foundations of Chemistry topics.
Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, and assessments, if need be.
Utilize diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
Student Engagement:
Provide academic support and mentorship to students.
Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills through interactive learning.
Assessment:
Administer and grade assignments, quizzes, and examinations.
Grade students’ performance in lab/on-site lab performance.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the laboratory team and course coordinator to ensure experiments align with the course's objectives.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Prior teaching experience at the tertiary education level is highly desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in basic biochemistry and related disciplines.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and learning management systems.
Ability to inspire and motivate students.
