Job Description:
The Part Time Food Production Assistant works to prepare food production for service within the Food Services department following all par stocks while maintaining hygienic work area. The incumbent will assist in stocking and cleaning of area tools when necessary. The incumbent will be working at The Fix Eatery within the Food Service department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Washes, cuts, and properly stores food items as per directions and/or par stocks while ensuring a clean and sanitized work area.
· Ensures proper labels are utilized for items.
· Stocks products, sweeps area, empties garbage, and washes dishes when required.
· Keeps the work area clean, neat and tidy including all equipment, floors, tables and chairs throughout the day.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Up to high School or equivalent.
· Up to One-year related experience in a food service-related industry and knowledge of food preparation an asset.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
· Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure and stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service.
· Ability to work flexible hours if required
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
· Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety standard an asset
· Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise (Lift Up to 20KG if required)
Anticipated Schedule:
9:00am-2:30pm (Monday to Thursday), 10:00am - 2:00pm (Friday)
Anticipated start date- 20th May 2025.
This position requires regular on-site work at Algonquin College’s Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus
