What you'll do:

Job responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

- Prepare and package medications as per Pharmacy Standards of Practice, ensuring all relevant information and documentation are complete
- Accurately enter and maintain appropriate data within the applicable systems
- Ensure prescriptions are prioritized correctly by the workflow
- Prepare each prescription quickly and accurately
- Prepare prescriptions for delivery
- May be required to perform inventory management under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist
- Maintain proper storage of medications within the pharmacy according to 5S principles
- Ensure stock bottles are put away by the established workflow
- Put away received pharmacy inventory in the appropriate location by the established workflow
- Prioritize recalls and immediately isolate product; quarantine until details of the recall are provided
- Ensure stock rotation is completed and the expired product is removed from the shelf and returned by standard operating procedures
- Ensure that the machines have necessary supply of proper accessories (e.g. Vials, caps, labels) to prepare the prescriptions

  • Independent thinking and decision making - makes decisions when dealing with issues or problems 

  • Plan, coordinate and delegate assignments and provide coaching to Pharmacy colleagues 

  • Proven ability to drive and build the business, lead by example and support enterprise programs 

  • Prioritize activities quickly in response to changing initiatives 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service 

  • Superior customer relations skills and a good sense of professionalism 

  • Strong problem-solving skills including experience formulating and implementing action plans 

  • Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Pharmacy systems a definite asset 

  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed to provide a healthy and safe work environment for all colleagues 

  • Complete mandatory training and voluntary continuing education workshops, as needed 

The successful candidate will be required to work Fridays 10am-6pm with an additional day a week (2pm-10pm) that can be scheduled based on business needs and candidate availability. Initial weeks of training might require to be scheduled Friday and 2-3 additional days during the week to provide enough support of staff regarding training.
