The Director, Commodity Management and Global Strategic Sourcing is responsible for all Engineered Items supply strategy, spend, supplier relationships and overall performance to Collins. Oversees the development and execution of the Engineered Items Commodity Strategy and initiatives that support and enable the overall Collins Supply Chain strategy, goals, and objectives.  As a member of the Global Strategic Sourcing team, the Director will lead projects relative to strategic sourcing cost initiatives across multiple sites.  Oversees and leads the Supplier strategy for the Collins including financials consisting of over 200 projects (headwind mitigation, work transfers and savings), drives value engineering and value analysis projects to reduce overall costs, manages Collins supply contractual liability and spend under agreement, drives cash / pay terms strategy, and drives best cost sourcing and supply base rationalization efforts.

What You Will Do:

  • Overall leadership of Engineered Items Commodity to include alignment with supply chain senior leaders, cross-BU alignment, and cross-functional alignment

  • Development and execution of commodity strategy

  • Development and execution of financial plans for commodity working across SBU for collaboration

  • Oversee projects to include identifying, managing, and escalating and mitigating project issues and risks

  • Influence and alignment of strategic business decisions

  • Facilitate and lead negotiations

  • Ability to mentor and develop associates

  • Strong ability to communicate with executive leadership internally and externally

  • Support identification & coordination of necessary resources for value engineering project teams

  • Ensure timely completion of contracts and projects

  • Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time (domestic and international)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract  

  • 10+ years experience supply chain leadership experience

  • 5+ years experience with engineering project management philosophies and tools

  • 5+ years of prior leadership experience (direct reports)

  • 5+ years experience creating financial forecast and estimates

  • 5+ years experience managing key supplier accounts

  • 5+ years experience with value engineering / value analysis project leadership

  • 5+ years experience negotiating at supplier executive level

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and senior leadership

  • Ability to influence others and guide organization toward a common vision

  • MBA, Master Supply Chain or other operations/technical advanced degree

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
