Part-time Information

  • This is a part-time position scheduled to work 20 hours per week.

  • The prorated monthly salary range is $1,714 - $2,311 (the salary range listed above on the job announcement is for a full-time position).

  • Part-time employees are eligible for benefits at a prorated rate.

Work Schedule

  • You will work 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • The specific days and time of work can be flexible. If you are the final candidate, your preferred work schedule can be discussed with the hiring manager. 

Summary of Duties

As an Office Specialist 2, you will:

  • Provide general clerical support to child welfare caseworkers and supervisors.

  • Ensures the timely production of all payments in compliance with policy and procedural requirements.

  • Ensure forms and letters are in accordance with ODHS policy and procedures.

  • Process paperwork and payments that guarantee documentation of responsible services to clients and consumers.

  • Perform administrative, general office and record processing activities to ensure timely and accurate support service.

  • Actively seek to achieve the ODHS goals of integrity, stewardship, responsibility, respect and professionalism, service equity and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

  • An associate degree in any field; OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience using multiple computer screens to run multiple computer programs simultaneously.

  • Experience using attention to detail to complete tasks accurately.

  • Experience providing customer service that goes beyond customer expectations.

  • Experience adapting with ease to evolving circumstances, deadlines and priorities.

  • Experience using computer systems or databases, including Microsoft Office programs, to file, organize, and retrieve data.

  • Experience building trusting relationships with internal and external partners and customers.

Working Conditions

  • Your work will take place in the Bend Child Welfare office.

  • You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.

  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.

  • Finalists must be cleared by the FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) through a fingerprint-based criminal records check. 

  • The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. ODHS will use E-Verify to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
