Part-Time Lecturer for DV2000 Typography I
The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply as Part-time Lecturer for DV2000 Typography I. The Part-time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate course commencing in August 2025.
In this introductory level course, students will learn the theory and practice of using type as a tool for communication, visualization and presentation within the context of a single page design. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of type classification knowledge and the various principles of layout such as space, balance, hierarchy, grid structure and text treatment. Through lectures, assignments and in-class critiques, students will learn to develop practical applications of typography and demonstrate type as a tool for visual communication. This learning will form the foundation for further studies in Typography 2.
Candidates should have at least a Masters and/or PhD in Visual communication or related field with a track record of production and creative practice in media. Any past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication and sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
